Hey All,

I have some new music for everyone. I have started recording some of my sets in the atrium and finally getting them up in the ole interweb. Still getting the hang of the recording equipment but I thought a couple were good enough to pass on to you. Check out the Myspace page and have a listen.

Hey All,

I really hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was lovely. I will have a lot of pictures for everyone coming in the next couple of days so keep your eyes peeled. I have a busy week planned… a little deep sea fishing, golfing, music, and of course blog writing. I only have 7 weeks left in the contract so I am starting to feel like I have too much to do before I leave. Its crazy that I can actually procrastinate having fun in the caribbean.

Sounds like the weather back home has been improving. I have been getting facebook messages and email about how its 60’s and sunny. Im so happy for everyone! Finally! You guys totally deserve it. A lot of the guests have been from Michigan in the last couple of weeks. They all are saying that they needed to leave the flipping state before their Brains froze and they were rendered useless for the rest of the year. Well, I hope that you are all starting to thaw and get ready for one hell of a summer.

Once again, Steve has sent me a link to another tid bit of humor. The site is a little vulgar, but absolutely hilarious. Something to look at while eating your lunch or on break. Enjoy, and say “Hi” me. I want to see who is looking at this site.

two wheeler…

March 12, 2009

Hey All,

So Im thinknig about buying a motorcycle. I will be getting back to the states in early May, which would give me almost 7 months of nice weather to ride in. I thought it might be kind of fun to own one for a while. It would save on gas and I could buy a car when winter comes. I dont want a crotch rocket or anything, something a little sturdier but still slick. Im thinking about something like this. Thoughts?

Hey All,

I started reading a book by Anthony Bourdain. He is a chef and author, and has a TV show on the travel channel that Alex and I are addicted to. He is very awesome writer and I am loving this book, Nasty Bits.  It is a compilation of his writing throughout his travels and experiences in the kitchen. I secretly hope that Nick will grow up the be the next Anthony Bourdain, and his show will be called “Food and Travels with Shitty”…I know I would watch it. Here are some clips from the show if you haven’t seen it.

“No Reservations” on Youtube

One of the articles  from the book really made me laugh and I wanted to share with you guys. Its Entitled “the Evildoers”.

Enjoy.

I’m on the subway after a long, hard day in the kitchen, my feet swelling up like twin Hindenburgs; my back killing me; fourteen hours of hot, sweaty, uncomfortable toil and two hundred eighty dinners under my belt; and I want to sit down. There are three seats in front of me in the crowded subway car. Unfortunately, one miserable, fat bastard is taking up all three of them. As he sits glumly but defiantly in a center seat, his gigantic butt cheeks and thighs spill out of the molded plastic bucket onto the seats on both sides, and his beady eyes dare me to try and squeeze my bony ass into one of the narrow spaces next to him. Spartans

March 9, 2009

Hey All,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I have been fighting a cold, but I think I am on the upswing. I spent a lot of time in bed watching TV. The channels on the ship are limited, with the major networks and a couple of crew movie channels. We actually get our network stations from Denver, which is quite interesting. My buddy, Steve, is living in Aspen, CO and I could tell him his weather reports ever day if wanted to.

The really kicker is that any sport games on the ship are very hit or miss.  With the Spartans doing quite well in both football and basketball year, it has been difficult to track their progress in the middle of the Caribbean all season. Luckily for me, however, I got an opportunity to watch MSU defeat the Purdue Boilermakers on TV yesterday. It was absolutely glorious seeing Izzo get pissed, then restrain himself from yelling at the ref. Watching Sutton kiss the floor and cry like a little baby when he walked off the court for the last time. For a couple of minutes I almost thought I was at home…but the ship rocked and I was snapped back into reality. Two more months.

Thank God March Madness is on CBS, because I will be able to watch the whole thing. Get your Brackets ready.

cold and coldness

March 8, 2009

Hey all,

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I have been a little under the weather. Speaking of weather… I hear the Midwest has been blessed with some really nice weather. Spring is on its way! So, caring so much about your environment, I have set up a poll to see what its like where you all are. Let me know…and tell me all the stories about what you are doing with your warmer temperatures.

Much love,

Giggin’

March 4, 2009

Hey All,

So I finished my gig yesterday and was chatting with a couple from Michigan. There have been a lot of Michiganders on the cruise the last couple weeks, escaping the cold that is lasting far too long. Anyway, they were telling me that they own a book store and would love to have me play there this summer. While talking, one of the other gentleman that was listening asked me where I was from. He is from Chicago and own 4 Irish pubs around Wrigleyville. He told me he would also love to have me play there this summer. So, in a matter of 5 minutes I had booked myself for 5 gigs. I think that’s some kind of a world record.

I am hoping to be doing a lot of playing when I get back home. If you know of any places…anywhere that you think might fit my music please let me know. I am going to start doing some email with my material in the next month for the summer music boom. I would love to hit up a big chunk of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. I am also going to try and play some gigs in Canada because I have gotten a great response from the Canadian guest on board. They all think I’m from Canada, actually, so I can take advantage of that.

So, keep the venue ideas coming.

Much Love,

BJSR

Hey All,

Happy Weekend! I hope everyone has big plans. Im in beautiful Saint Kitts, sipping a carmel macchiato at an internet cafe. Not a lot going on today, but I have  another funny video to show you. I watched this one at least 8 times yesterday. I think I see a little of myself in David (after a Benadryl or two)…Parents can be so cruel. Enjoy.
